London Marathon 2010

I really can't be sure how much I trained for the inaugural Virgin marathon in 2010, but looking back at my Strava, it really wasn’t a lot. In the two weeks leading up - I presume this is the taper - it looks as though I didn’t don my trainers once. In the six weeks leading up to it I did a little over 20 km. I have to admit, knowing what I know now, I am surprised I finished. Yes, I was younger than I am now and I had only recently hung up my rugby boots, but the photo below doesn't show me to be much of a runner. I did however think at this point, foolishly, that I could now run any distance. I saw in a free London (short list)  magazine a run in the Lake District for the Lakeland 50/100 and wanted to sign up for the 100. I was talked into doing the 50 mile version, thankfully.

Offical results on how my London Marathon panned out:

Strava shows me at 4:05:46, but my official time was 4:09:21
